In general, the Income Tax Return filed by the assessee is accepted by the department as it has been filed and after matching the tax credit the system automatically processes the income tax return and assessment is completed without any problem. However, in case your case is picked up or selected for the income tax assessment by the department, then the department shall go for detailed verification of all the incomes and expenses as reported in the Income Tax Return. The conduct of assessment procedures is an art and requires good experience so that the assessment is concluded successfully and in favour of the assessee.
